• Corporate & Leadership Workshops
“All the ills of mankind, all the tragic misfortunes that fill the history books, all the political blunders, all the failures of great leaders have arisen merely from a lack of skill in dancing.” - Moliere
Through improvisation and non-traditional partnering techniques we can address the key issues that all corporations seeking innovation are faced with including:
- How to genuinely collaborate and partner across all types of boundaries and spaces
- How to create things that could not be fully imagined at the beginning
- How to be mutually supportive and work as teams that honor both the individual and collective efforts
- How to empower a shifting of the concept of traditional command and control over others
All this is accomplished in a casual and playful environment that requires no previous dance experience. It can be approached as creative tourism that extends one's range, ability and agility to work and perform in powerful new ways.
• On and Off Broadway
Apogee Arts is currently involved with a creative team that is developing new 21st century theatrical experiences employing a fusion of physical theater, music and projection design. These works reinvigorate storytelling with a cirque type spectacle and a strong narrative.
• Special Events & Commercial Work
Alison has several decades of experience in special events and commercial endeavors. Her projects have been diverse, from her work with corporations such as Mobile Oil and IBM to her work with groups such as the National Organization of Hadassah. Alison's ability to listen and bring a dramatic freshness to the ideas on the table is the mark of her success.
• Special Commissions
These can take any form, from traditional venues such as the Ballet du Rhin, Lyons Ballet, Walton Arts Center and Wolf Trap, to more unexpected collaborations like those with the Rockettes or Ringing Rocks, an organization that specializes in healing.
• Master Teaching
Apogee Arts offers a varied program for students from all walks of life including everyone from corporate, pre-professional, non-dancing adults, to elementary, high school and college students. Her teaching often crosses interests, she has co-taught with photographers, composers, visual and graphic artists, sculptors, and has taught a special curriculum for integrating art and science.
• Educational Partnerships
Apogee Art's educational partnerships may take the form of single or multi-year collaborations. Educational collaborations allow us to have a dialogue with a future generation of choreographers and artists. We have had educational partnerships with Wolftrap, Yale University, Dartmouth College, Cleveland School for the Arts, Southern Methodist University, Dance St.Louis and others.
• Site Specific Works
Each space or location suggests different dramatic possibilities and different performance narratives. Alison Chase's site specific works have included performances at St.John the Divine, quarries, museums and in open fields. Any place, from a large interior architectural space to a mundane parking lot, can provide interesting possibilities for an exciting performance.
• Community Based Works
These works are incredibly exhilarating for Alison because they marry her educational and creative passions. The Urban Nutcracker was the product of a seven year collaboration with an inner city school in downtown Cleveland. Quarryography was a three year collaboration with Opera House Arts in Stonington Maine. Quarryography's cast included community members ages 8 to 65, a live steel band, professional dancers, a 25-foot puppet and a performing excavator.
